Location: Bay Shore, NY

The lobby of Southside Hospital was expanded and updated as part of Northwell's system-wide initiative to enhance the patient experience. Visitors are first welcomed by greeters seated at a custom-designed desk defined by simple, clean lines. The dark-toned accent wall panels behind the desk and wood grille ceiling with linear lighting provide contrast and visually connect the space to the pharmacy / gift shop opposite.

Past the security turnstiles, the alternating floor patterns and materials define the circulation path and seating area. Varying furniture arrangements allow visitors to sit quietly, in small groups, or to work at the high table with easily accessible power and data outlets. The public toilets continue the warm tones, with glass mosaic accents and contrasting wall and floor tiles.
